A bit of History
Coaching was developed in the USA from ideas of some people like Frederic Hudson, who viewed human life and its changes in terms of a succession of cycles. But the acceleration of the rhythm of changes makes life even more difficult in our actual society. The psychologist Michael Brown used Hudson's ideas to finalize techniques aiming at helping people whose life is changing or wanting to launch a new project.
Soon these coaching techniques interested companies as a tool to keep up managers, and then to help people searching for a new job.
From the Anglo-Saxon world, coaching appeared in France in the nineties. First aimed at CEOs and high-potential managers, it is now democratized, and today coaching is proposed in practically any field of activity.
